Using behavioural science to combat misinformation and remove barriers for better health and better educational outcomes.
Our work in this space
The COVID-19 pandemic brought public health to the forefront of public policy. We have specialised in the uptake of vaccines and other preventative behaviours, as well as addressing people’s barriers to healthy decisions in projects commissioned by the Leukaemia & Lymphoma Society and the Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council. We have helped to embed a behavioural approach across several public health teams within the Sunderland City Council dealing with issues ranging from maternity care and child nutrition to workplace wellbeing.
In education, we partnered with the YMCA to develop and use predictive algorithms to identify the regions that would most benefit from new program offerings. With the EU, we worked on reducing gender gaps in education and on removing barriers for university students to join the Erasmus exchange program. We have also worked with the largest apprenticeship programme provider in Wales on using data analytics and behavioural science to help reduce apprenticeship programme dropout rates.
